Product Launch Handbook

The step-by-step checklist to prepare, coordinate, and execute a successful launch.

1. Preparation Phase (2 Weeks Prior)

Successful launches are rarely spontaneous; they require structured planning. Prior to scheduling your launch, make sure you assemble:

  • High-Resolution Assets: Render a 240x240 square animated GIF logo icon, draft 4-5 high-fidelity screenshots of your app workspace, and prepare a 1-minute YouTube demo link.
  • The Perfect Copy: Keep your product title simple, and write a tagline (max 60 characters) explaining the direct utility of your tool (avoid generic marketing fluff like "The best app ever").
  • The First Comment: Prepare a comprehensive maker comment detailing the problem you're solving, why you built the codebase, and what special offers/promotions you have for launch voters.

2. Launchday Execution (PST Timeline)

Launches go live on our trending boards at 12:01 AM PST. This marks the beginning of a 24-hour cycle. To optimize upvotes velocity:

  • Newsletter Sync: Dispatch emails to your existing subscriber lists and pre-launch pipelines built using Ship.
  • Community Outreach: Announce your launch across social circles. *Crucial:* Do not ask directly for upvotes (this triggers anti-spam algorithms). Instead, ask for honest codebase feedback and reviews.
  • Answer Comments Instantly: Stay inside your browser and reply to comments within minutes. Detailed replies build community trust and increase discussion metrics.

3. Launchday Regulations & Anti-Spam

Our ranking algorithm is highly sensitive to manipulation. Buying upvotes, setting up collaborative upvoting bots, or directing newly registered accounts to support your post will trigger penalty flags, resulting in your post being removed or demoted from the active indices. Encourage genuine, long-term community members to check out your build.
